Building Projects & Repair Needs
As we prepare the future home of St. Stephen Mission for Orthodox worship and parish life, several repairs and upgrades need to be completed soon. The projects below are divided by area and include estimated costs for each scope of work.
Our challenge is that the mission has a healthy and growing monthly cash flow, but we do not yet have the funds on hand needed to complete these immediate repairs and improvements. Gifts toward these projects will directly help establish a new Orthodox church in Southeast Houston.
Each project area has a code that may be placed in the memo of your donation. If a gift is given for a specific project and that project is fully funded, changed, or no longer needed, we will contact the donor so that the gift may be redirected to another project need.
We are committed to transparency. The finances of the mission are available for review upon request.
Those who help with this work are helping lay the foundation for a new parish community. Your generosity will be remembered with gratitude by St. Stephen Mission as part of the founding work of this church.
HVAC Systems
The air conditioning systems serving the fellowship hall and sanctuary are not working and need to be replaced. This project will provide reliable cooling for worship, fellowship, classes, meals, and parish gatherings.
This is one of the most urgent needs for preparing the building for regular use, especially during the Houston summer.

Parking Lot Repair
This project includes cleaning, resealing, and restriping the parking lot so that it is safer, cleaner, and ready for regular parish use.
A well-marked and maintained parking lot will help us welcome visitors, families, and parishioners for worship, fellowship, and community events.

Electrical Upgrades
This project includes the electrical work needed to support HVAC replacement, retrofit the building’s interior lights to LED, upgrade the parking lot pole lights to LED, install or repair emergency lighting, and bring the fire system back into working order.
These upgrades are essential for safety, efficiency, code readiness, and preparing the building for regular worship and parish use.

Painting and Carpentry
his project includes power washing the exterior of the building, painting the interior and exterior, building a new altar platform for Orthodox worship, and replacing the sanctuary stained-glass windows with clear glass.
These improvements will help clean, restore, and beautify the building while preparing the sanctuary for proper liturgical use.
